“We want to care for people leaving prison. We want to build a bridge between prison chaplaincy work and the local church, and join in with what Jesus is already doing. Will you join us in building a bridge?”
— Rev Paul Cowley MBE - Founder of CFPL (formerly CFEO)

Prison Chaplain or Resettlement Officer

If you know of an individual who may be interested in joining the Bridge Programme, please do get in touch.

We require each person to complete an Application form. From that we will request a Chaplain's Assessment and Risk Assessment from Probation. Below are links to the forms for the Bridge Programme:

Application form - this must be completed and signed by the individual in order to progress their application and obtain permission to request information from their Chaplain and Resettlement or Probation Officers.

Chaplain's Assessment - this provides valuable insight into the character of the person and the type of support that may be required. A signed application form gives us permission to request this information.

Risk Assessment - this must be completed by Probation Officer or Offender Supervisor/Manager to provide important risk assessment and the type of support that will be required. A signed application form gives us permission to request this information.

CFPL (formerly CFEO) has developed a method of connecting an individual from prison to a local church community. The process begins with initial contact from an individual and suitability assessment by the CFPL team. If initial suitability criteria are met, risk assessments are carried out, the safeguarding team is spoken to and if suitability is confirmed, the individual is on-boarded onto the Bridge Programme.
